That is like saying trees or animals. They do different things. I would say pixels for photography, pixel art, natural looking brushes. I would say vector for design oriented, smoother, sharper, textual or technical looking pieces.
Of course, you can make organic forms in vector, such as a human face, but you cannot make it look like it was done in pastels (except for apps that 'stroke' vectors paths with a pixel brush form).
Of course, vectors CAN be used to make anything, but they are better suited to non photographic (non natural) looking images.
There is not a question 'vector or pixel' unless you give a qualification for your question.
pixel since ive never tried doing vectors. and pixels are like.. chocolate to me. i love them XD i like vectors too though! there is equal love for the vectors.
